On May 26, 2021, the oratorians in Tappan gathered with the friends of the Oratory to celebrate St Philip Neri’s life. In a simple but profound celebration that took place in St John Piermont Church, the Emeritus Provost reminded the faithful presents how saint Philip’s legacy can be carried out today in our daily life, by remaining Joyful and cheerful. During this celebration, the provost made public the admission of some members to the phase of formation: Fr Ravi to sexennalis, Fr Jean-Paul to triennalis, and Brother Steven to the second year of formation. An oratory tradition was recalled by brother Steven to read the memorial of St Philip Neri during oratory gathering and he took charge to read the text for the audience. After the mass the time for agape where all shared joyfully the meal offered by St John’s community.
